This is one of the most special weddings I have ever been too. People often say that “if there were ever two people in this world made for each other, these two are it”, and in this case it couldn’t be more true about Nicholas and Shannon. Nicholas is my sister-in-law’s brother so we have been friends for about 8 years now. I remember when he first started falling for Shannon (he probably doesn’t remember talking about her like this in front of me but it’s worth sharing).
I was up in Summit Co. visiting with a friend of mine about 2 years ago and one night we were sitting around talking and somehow through conversation this “hot blonde” came up. I didn’t pry and just let the conversation unfold. There were a few other guys there who thought this blonde was extremely attractive too but Nicholas laid down the law when he told them to all quit talking about her because “that is the girl I’m going to marry”, he said. I don’t know why that stuck with me but I’m glad it did.
I had the privilege of meeting Shannon for the first time at a family wedding in Michigan. I could immediately see how much they cared about each other. Shannon was a ton of fun and we became friends quickly.
I couldn’t have felt more honored when they asked me to shoot their wedding for them in Rocky Mountain National Park. They are such a beautiful couple that has gone through the trials and tribulations that some couples never go through and it has managed to shape them into something stronger than before.
So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let no man separate. Matthew 19:6
