Nicholas&Shannon – Wedding

This is one of the most special weddings I have ever been too. People often say that “if there were ever two people in this world made for each other, these two are it”, and in this case it couldn’t be more true about Nicholas and Shannon. Nicholas is my sister-in-law’s brother so we have been friends for about 8 years now. I remember when he first started falling for Shannon (he probably doesn’t remember talking about her like this in front of me but it’s worth sharing).

I was up in Summit Co. visiting with a friend of mine about 2 years ago and one night we were sitting around talking and somehow through conversation this “hot blonde” came up. I didn’t pry and just let the conversation unfold. There were a few other guys there who thought this blonde was extremely attractive too but Nicholas laid down the law when he told them to all quit talking about her because “that is the girl I’m going to marry”, he said. I don’t know why that stuck with me but I’m glad it did.

I had the privilege of meeting Shannon for the first time at a family wedding in Michigan. I could immediately see how much they cared about each other. Shannon was a ton of fun and we became friends quickly.

I couldn’t have felt more honored when they asked me to shoot their wedding for them in Rocky Mountain National Park. They are such a beautiful couple that has gone through the trials and tribulations that some couples never go through and it has managed to shape them into something stronger than before.

So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let no man separate. Matthew 19:6

Hawaii 2012

About a month and a half ago my mom, two sisters and I all went on a family vacation to Hawaii. It was so amazing! One of the most extraordinary experiences I’ve ever had. We had been talking about how our family needs a break and needs to get away with all that has happened to us in the past two years. My mom asked where we wanted to go and my step-dad had always wanted to take all of us to Hawaii so that’s what we settled on. I cannot express how beautiful the whole thing was. Next time I would love to go to some of the other islands and spend some time in the less touristy areas but at the very least I can say that I’ve been to one of the most breathtaking places on earth.

James & Lacey – Wedding

I have to say that this wedding was one of the most fun I have ever had the privilege of shooting. These families are so funny and full of love and life! James and Lacey got married back in March with their parents present and then had this formal ceremony so nerves were low and everyone was relaxed.

I know it’s common for friends and family to want copies of pictures from these wonderful moments in life and for those individuals there will be a posting soon on how to order these shots so please stay tuned!

Catch-up

Ok so I just decided to just make one massive post about all the shoots I’ve done over the past few months. This is the easiest way to do this because there really is a lot and I’m just going to post some of the highlights.

Well, no post of mine would be finished correctly if I didn’t include some pictures of animals, and more specifically my dogs. This first image of a squirrel that I met in Colorado, the next is obviously Jimi.

Chicago

This is a severely late post but I’m trying to play catch up right now.

Over Thanksgiving my mother and 2 sisters and I all went up to Chicago. There was really no particular reason behind it, we just wanted to kind of get away from it all and have a little change. On the trip my Sister-in-law and her husband came and met up with us, bringing my AMAZINGLY funny niece and nephew. Talk about 2 people I could never love any more just because I don’t think it’s humanly possible.

We went and saw The Bean! It was was pretty big highlight of the trip.

Also on this trip, my nephew turned 4. His big gift from Grandma was to get to go to the Lego Store. I think the best part for the rest of us was we now had an excuse to go to the Lego Store. We all were playing with the pieces, building things, and OOOOing and AWWWing over the “Architecture Series” that Lego has now come out with.

It was a trip that I will never forget. I loved spending all this time with my family. I count myself very blessed.

Summertime Photo Parade

It’s been too long since I’ve posted. I have lots of pictures and stories from the past 2 months and wanted to do a quick compelation of some of my favorites.

It seems like I have been all over the place in a few months and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down. I leave for Salt Lake City in a few days and will only have 1 day home before I go to hike Wheeler Peak. Hopefully life will take a chill pill and I’ll be able to enjoy my new house. Yes. That’s right. I have moved into a new house that is all my own… well all mine and my roommates. Hopefully I’ll get some pics of the finished product up. We have been working like crazy to get things done. Pinterest has offered LOTS of inspiration for our home so hopefully we can do it justice.

Let the photo parade begin!
